Many of you will already know that we are big fans of the Doe Show, we can always be found either on our stall or out watching & even filming the brilliant demonstrations they put on every year. By the end of the seventies Massey Ferguson was well established as a leader in agricultural manufacturing this was in no small part thanks to the companies ability to innovate and stay ahead of the game. Volume 17 looks at the inherent quality of Massey Ferguson’s tractors & farm machinery, which along with a number of groundbreaking innovations helped them stay ahead of the competition. With 200 series tractors the Mighty 760 Combine travelling north across America with the Harvest Brigade. The benefits of huge 4000 & 2000 Series tractors and MF’s new Powerflow System as well as the skilled staff at Stoneleigh whose expertise in maintenance and training was second to none. With all this and more MF really did have The Tools of the Professionals.

Vol. 17 - Tools Of The Professionals

But as a period of massive over expansion was coming to an end the agricultural manufacturing market was becoming an increasingly hostile environment. Throughout their histories the Massey-Harris & Ferguson companies pioneered innovative farming machinery and equipment. In Volume 18 we look back at their contributions to the evolution of both the tractor & combine harvester. We begin with rare footage of the Prototype 4700. Then to the evolution of the combine and tractor culminating in the Mighty 760 Harvester and 200 Series tractors. The 1114 & 1134 are given the seal of approval and we find out about MF’s plans for adapting to the changing agricultural environment of the late 70’s, a hostile time when only the fittest would survive.

Vol. 18 - Survival Of The Fittest

Fans of our Ford & Fordson On Film DVD Series will be pleased to know that Volumes 7 & 8 are now available to buy from Second Sight Productions. Volume 7 is all about the Super Class, the name Ford gave to their new Super Major and Super Dexta tractor models. We begin by highlighting all the latest improvements on the Super Major, then onto the Super Dexta which boasts that it was “the tractor that puts power into light tractor farming”.

Volume 8 contains no less than eight old Ford films. We start with the superb ‘New Performance’ series of tractors which boasted Ford’s “largest product improvements without a complete model change”. We celebrate the launch of the famous Ford 6X range, the first tractors to be built in the UK to carry the Ford badge and take a look at the new Ford 1000 series.
